I grew up so close to Lake Erie, my feet are still wet. I began working as a reporter and photographer for the Port Clinton Daily News, when I was still in high school, learning the ropes from a wonderful managing editor. I went on to a career in the U.S. Army and traveled to places like Kaiserslautern, Germany, and Las Vegas, Nevada, which I thought was too hot. After retiring I went into business as a private investigator in Alaska. This work formed the basis for the character of Sidney Reed in my novels.
